What if I lost my password? If you cannot login anymore you can click the [Forget password?] button on the homepage or click here. We will send a new password to the email address you used to signup. Click here to request a new password What's in My Home and the Account summary? When you login you will see a menu with the following hyperlinks:
How do I add my first website? When you login to your account you will see a hyperlink [Click here to add a website]. Just click the hyperlink and you're on your way. Simply fill out some information about your website (title, description, URL, category) and about the websites you want to exchange reciprocal links with. You can select up to 5 categories but remember it's all about relevancy and quality, not quantity. You can also select the language of the websites you want to exchange links with and their Google PageRank. Note: you can add just one website or you can add as many as you want in 1 account. Tip: if you are a webdesigner you can add your client's websites. You can set the price you want. How do I add your links page to my own website? All you have to do is login to your account and download the file. Login and click My Sites. Then click [Links page] to download the links page, create a /links folder on your webserver, chmod to 755 (or 777 on some servers), and run the file from your browser. Add a link to this file from your homepage. Let's go over this one more time in more detail:
Note: you can name the /links folder anything you like. If you name it www.yourURL.com/partners/index.php just make sure the Link Page URL in [Edit Site] is updated. What does Link page URL mean?We will prepare a unique file for you to put on your website. You can
download this file when you login. The link page URL (on your website) is
where our file will be located on your webserver. This must be in a
subdirectory. You can name the subdirectory anything you want to.
Examples:
You have to put a hyperlink from your homepage to this link page. Our script checks for a hyperlink from http://www.myURL.com to http://www.myURL.com/links/index.php or it won't work. How many categories can I choose to exchange links with? You can select up to 5 relevant categories but one thing to bear in mind is relevancy. Ask anyone who knows what they are talking about. It is not about quantity but quality. It is better to have 20 relevant reciprocal links than 200 irrelevant reciprocal links. Experts agree that relevant links are much more effective. For your visitors and for the search engines. Do I have to select a language? This is optional. You do not have to select a language. You can just select [All languages]. If you do select a language, for example English, then only websites in English will be shown on your links page. If you select [All languages] then websites in all languages will be shown on your links page. You can also select more than one or several languages from a list for example Dutch, English and French. Why should I exchange links only with sites with an equal or higher Google PageRank? This is optional and it depends on your PageRank. If you select [Yes] the system will only exchange links with websites with the same or a higher Google PageRank. If you select [No] the system will exchange links with all websites. Obviously the higher your PageRank, the fewer links on your link page but we can only repeat what we already said: it's not about quantity but quality. What is Google PageRank?First of all Page does not refer to page as in a page of a book but to Larry Page, one of the founders of Google. Here's what Google has to say about PageRank: PageRank is a system for ranking web pages. PageRank relies on the uniquely democratic nature of the web by using its vast link structure as an indicator of an individual page's value. In essence, Google interprets a link from page A to page B as a vote, by page A, for page B. But, Google looks at more than the sheer volume of votes, or links a page receives; it also analyzes the page that casts the vote. Votes cast by pages that are themselves "important" weigh more heavily and help to make other pages "important." Important, high-quality sites receive a higher PageRank, which Google remembers each time it conducts a search. Of course, important pages mean nothing to you if they don't match your query. So, Google combines PageRank with sophisticated text-matching techniques to find pages that are both important and relevant to your search. Google goes far beyond the number of times a term appears on a page and examines all aspects of the page's content (and the content of the pages linking to it) to determine if it's a good match for your query. What does it mean to accept all matched links automatically? You have the choice to either accept all links the system finds automatically or to approve (or decline) them manually. Most webmasters set this option to [Yes] and never worry about it. If you want to make sure who's linking to you and check their website first you can set this option to [No]. What is an active or inactive website? You have the option to set the status of your website to [Active], [On hold] or [Deleted]. If your website is temporarily offline for any reason you can put it [On hold]. But beware this is not recommended as it will have a negative influence on your search engine rankings. What does "waiting for validation" mean?Every website in the system is checked by one of our webmasters. This is to ensure that the website's description is correct and that no unacceptable websites join the system. Can I add links to my link page that are not members?Yes you can also add links manually, even when they are not registered members. This is free of charge. Just login, select a website from your list of websites, click [Links page] and go to Manual Link Exchange (free of charge). If you already have a links page on your website you can use our links page instead of your current links page. You can use our tool to manually manage links to your current link partners. No more HTML file to open, change, upload. You can manage it easily and quickly from our website. And it is not required for your linkpartners to be a member. Please note that this tool is a free service. Manually added links are shown on your website's links page even if you do not pay for our automated links exchange service. |
